Upsell Playbook: Make MORE Money This Year
Your sights are set on that big splashy launch and you know that you’ve got a hit offer on your hands that can get you to your revenue goal.
But what if I told you that your revenue doesn’t have to only rely on your launch offer pulling the weight?
Today we’re talking upsells – the proven sales technique that encourages your buyers to purchase more value through upgrades or additional premium offers on top of their original intended purchase.
Here are some of our favorite ways to incorporate upsells at check out that feel good for you while serving your clients at the highest level…
1 . On Demand Masterclass
Are you a coach or service pro who educates fellow coaches or service pros? Create an On Demand Masterclass in which you work through your actual process- allowing you to follow along as you reveal part of how you actually complete a tasks or execute on a project.
For example, marketers could show exactly how they complete the content creation process from ideation to scheduling, revealing the little little steps within the process that are so helpful to know.
2. Custom Virtual Consult
Have your buyer submit a report of all of the topics that they’d like to address with specific details, then create a custom video diagnostic of sorts in which you explain what you think their hold-ups are and offer customized go-forward solutions in the video itself.
3. 30 Days of SOS Texts/Voxer
Offer an add-on SOS Container in which buyers can have “your genius in their pocket” for pop-up questions, quick hit insights, and in-the-moment support during their launch or busy season. Set parameters like Monday – Friday 9-5 PM + 2 Q’s/Day (or any version that works for you)!
4. Daily Q&A
Have your buyers fill out a Typeform with questions within a certain category in regards to your offer [i.e Module Questions, Implementation, Etc] that must be submitted by a certain time in order to be answered that day.
Share the daily Q&A’s via email or in a specific online community this is a less personal option than texts/Voxer communication and a great option if you want to
5. Upsell into Advanced Offer to be Unlocked
Spice up checkout with an upsell into an advanced offer at a steep discount that the student or client can ONLY unlock once they have completed their current level program – ensuring they’re well-paced for their current level of need but still have the next level offer to look forward to!
6. VIP Support Package
Nothing excites people quite like the opportunity to work 1:1, so offer an upsell into a VIP Support Package that grants buyers 1:1, small group, or semi-custom support to get them further faster.
7. Done For You Assets
Take the work off their hands and create a Done For You Asset file complete with captions, social media templates, scripts, or any other relevant templates that clients would find helpful.
8. Physical Goods
Get your clients excited for additional supplies & support from you by creating a physical product upsell (i.e custom package, workbook, or any other physical material relevant to the work they’re doing) in order to improve the overall customer experience.
9. Additional Complimentary Product
Do you have a secondary product that is different yet complementary? Consider offering this at checkout as an upsell to complete a bigger picture goal (i.e they’re buying a course about creating a yoga biz, and you upsell to a separate offer that helps them master online yoga instruction).
