Alisha Kumar is the Founder and Creative Director of The Social Project Inc, a social marketing agency targeting luxury lifestyle brands. 

But before she hit six-figures, hired six employees and contractors, and stepped into her sophisticated CEO… a few things had to happen.

In her past life, Alisha worked for an environmental company in human resources. Not knowing she already had the skills and talent to take her experience out on her own, she attended a Tony Robbins and Gary Vee live event that would change the trajectory of her career. 

“I walked out of there saying, 'Hey, I'm not gonna work for anybody but myself.'”

With her 8 years of experience, she decided to go into marketing, public relations, and events as a solopreneur service provider, while working a full-time job. After about 5 months of the side hustle grind, Alisha went all in. With no savings and a gut feeling, Alisha left her job and went full time in her business. 

Between 2017 and 2018, Alisha was a one-woman team.

She didn’t wait for clients to come and find her, she started attending in-person networking events, so she could begin to fill her client roster. 

“I went and inserted myself into networking events. I just pulled up a seat at every single table that I could… which helped me in the long run because I started doing that online as well.”

Although she was proactive in her search for clients, Alisha still found herself in a financial deficit in the business, and knew she needed to reassess who her target market was. 

Once Alisha narrowed her niche to product based businesses and the travel and hospitality industry, she decided to turn her one-woman business into an agency.

The thing about business is no matter what stage you climb to, new challenges will arise. It’s part of the journey. 
 
Alisha found herself with a thriving business, and even though she had invested in coaches who helped her get there, she was presented with a new task: scaling. 
 
“I was at a point where I could pay myself and Charlee [contractor] at the time, and I was looking to scale so I knew I wanted to diversify my income. I just didn't know what that was going to look like.”

Alisha was also able to sell her programs and packages at their highest price point through building genuine relationships.

Kayla Ybanez is the CEO of Kayla Ybanez Coaching, creator of the Stop The Hey Girl® Method and Founder of Ybanez Media, a marketing agency helping businesses spend less time on social media while making a dynamic impact with their audiences.

You feel you have to act like this certain person to be successful. And I'm telling people that that's a load of sh*t. It's not true. And if we keep going the way that we're going, more people are going to leave the industry, but my system actually keeps people happily in the industry.”

In the next three years, Kayla plans on becoming the household name for more than just the online space. 

“I definitely want to be able to work on being known in business and leadership outside of the online space. I see more stages, and TV, and books!”

How Nicole Transitioned her Veterinary Consultancy Practice Online and Saw a 100% Income Increase

Nicole Clausen is an Inventory Specialist creating efficient strategies for veterinary practices & professionals. She operates as a remote & on-site consultant and overall inventory + practice-optimization educator who has been in business for over 5 years.
