If you’re a part of The Social Bungalow Community, you know we like to double down on value.
We’re a group of thorough, ambitious, deep-thinking women. #TeamNoFluff
& I couldn’t be MORE proud to helm our Bungalow fam.
Once someone joins us, the remark I hear most often is, “WOW how did you find all of these amazing women… and get them together in one group!?”
To which I usually think, “RIGHT!? Where had they been all my life?”
But truly, this niche-specific community has grown from two directives:
Today, we’re drilling into #2.
ANNOUNCE YOUR GROUP IN A FUN WAY
Instead of just releasing on stories or via an email to your list, what can you do to build hype? Try creating a launch party. Maybe this is a two hour dance party + exclusive training + surprise guest speaker + guided intention setting + chocolate party.
Make it fun, and then keep it up. During quarantine the Backstreet Boys were a part of a “living room concert series” the #BungalowBabes hopped on Zoom and jammed out together (wine included.)
EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
Provide content that is ONLY in your Facebook group, and then promote that content on your other social channels.
For example: We’ll host an hour long “Complimentary Instagram Audits” Live in the FB group, promote it on IG stories, pop up Live on IG in the middle of the audits to tease that audience & invite them over, share the replay via email, and if someone DMs with a question about their IG profile – I’ll send them to the group to catch the replay.
HOST A GIVEAWAY
On your most popular account, host a giveaway and require one of the ‘steps to enter’ be ‘Join the Facebook Group’.
LONG-FORM LAUNCH EVENTS
Releasing a new offer? Host a 3-5 day challenge, or masterclass, in the Facebook Group. Make the topic so juicy they can’t ignore you.
DON’T FORGET ABOUT THOSE EXTRA SPOTS
When someone finds you on a different medium, their natural next step is to seek out more of your content. If the directions point to your Facebook Group, they WILL join.
Remember – You can always swap this CTA out after a period of time, you’re not stuck with these placements:
– Your business email’s signature
– Personal Facebook page bio
– Facebook Fan Page bio
– Prompt on your website home page
– Create a web page for your Instagram bio and put your Facebook Group as one of the CTA’s
ASK MEMBERS TO INVITE OTHERS
Good people know good people – tap into the networks of those that have already joined by asking them to invite their niche-specific friends.
Bonus points if you gamify this by creating a leaderboard and rewarding the person who gets the most new members to join.
(Logistics: You’ll need to change one of your three join-questions to “Who invited you to this group?” and manually track.)
EMAIL SEQUENCES
Do you have a free resource opt in with a follow up series of nurture emails? Change one of those emails to a full promo of the Facebook Group. This will loyalize your subscriber to your community + provide additional value!
GUEST SPEAKERS
Get your fellow experts to promote your Facebook Group by asking them to guest speak. Make sure to create promo Instagram story slides (use Canva) and ask them to share 2-3 times prior to their Live training.
A Facebook Group feels like being in a secret clubhouse for people on the same journey as you.
Utilizing this tool to build community, gain invaluable market research, and warm up those niche-specific leads has been a game changer for mine (and my clients’) businesses.
