We’re getting right into brass tacks with this blog. If you’re coming here first, I encourage you to watch the New-Wave MBA training on Program Suite structure.
& then take a look at this Instagram post to see the three tiered approach for increase.
In my experience, most clients realize their package is coming to a close 2 ish weeks out from the end date, or on the second to last call.
I encourage you to send this 3-4 weeks prior to contract ending. Any sooner then that and it may be intimidating to look at increased cost, when they still have month(s) to pay on their current contract.
(Feel free to copy+paste these bad boys, they’re all yours.)
Hi [Client Name],
First and foremost, working with you has been an ‘all time business highlight’ for me! Supporting you in accomplishing [insert 1-3 results] has been incredible.
I’d like to extend an invitation to continue on after our [contract, project] comes to a close on [date].
From what you’ve shared about your goals, I’d like to use that [timeframe, ie. next 90 days] to focus on [insert 1-3 goals / results].
Gratefully, my [coaching, services] has been in demand and I’m getting to a point of capacity, which has increased my pricing [insert increase here, ex. New clients will be paying $2,000 per month.]
However, I’d love to create a custom legacy rate for you.
[Month range, ex. October to January]:
[Enter deliverables here, ex…]
-2 60 minute Zoom calls per month
-Unlimited Voxer support
-Material reviewal
Total: $1,500 per month, $4,500 pay in full
Note – This is the most ‘at cost’ I can do at this time, so there won’t be a pay-in-full discount.
Please keep this rate private, it’s exclusively for you due to our existing relationship (and how much I just ADORE you).
Let me know your thoughts on the ongoing package.
Here’s to your continued success,
[Your name]
Client you’re okay with letting go of:
I absolutely understand! How can I best support you in your transition to another [coach, designer, copywriter]?
Client you want to retain:
I absolutely understand. Is there anything I can include to make the increased price more of a no-brainer for you?
They may say something simple that would take you no more than an hour to whip up + be rooted in massively supporting them, such as:
“Yes, if I could have a monthly content outline / Instagram audit / templates for freebies etc.”
If that’s the case, I’d go for it:
Wonderful! I’d love to further your success by including [thing they just mentioned] in our upcoming package. I’ll start your onboarding next week so we can continue seamlessly. Which payment option do you prefer?
