In most of our Coffee & Questions Facebook Live chats, I get asked about my daily routine. It looks something like:
“How do you manage multiple businesses, wedding planning, your sanity, a social life, and 3 dogs?” ๐
If you’re anything like me, you love nitty-gritty details. So, here’s the full scoop, from sun up to sun down!
5-7am:
Wake up without an alarm (something Iโm grateful for every second of every day, after years in the “first in, last out” corporate world). The two hour fluctuation is based on how well I slept. Sometimes I konk out for 8 blissful hours, sometimes Iโm up at 2am writing emails in my mind – letโs be honest.
Make cup of coffee = I make a pour over, usually Ethiopian in region. This is a 15+ min process so I multitask withโฆ
Getting light movement, sunlight (if the sun’s up), and 2 glasses of water = I just treat morning-me like a houseplant. Sometimes itโs a stretch & yoga flow in the kitchen, sometimes I bustle around and change the laundry or put away the dishes.
Take coffee, water and my laptop back to bed. This is the first time I check my phone, make sure there arenโt emergencies, and put it back away.
Approximately 1 hour of writing / finishing a project I left from the night before. My cognitive energy is highest in the morning, this is where my best work comes from so I don’t stifle it in lieu of a “morning routine” you might see online – this is your permission slip to do what’s right for you in the AM.
8am Workout:
Group fitness classes at the gym. Right now the routine is Monday Pilates, Tuesday Weight Lifting, Thursday Yoga, Friday Pilates. On Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays Iโll do the Mari Winsor Abs + Glute videos from YouTube at home (I’ve done these videos since I was a teenager jacking them from my mom’s DVD collection ๐ they work!), OR this weight lifting BodyPump class.
9-10am:
Home, shower, get ready, make smoothie (same thing every day), and take supplements.
Smoothie recipe: 3 strawberries, half a banana, 2 handfuls of spinach, chia seeds, inulin powder, detox organics powder, Bubs Naturals collagen protein powder, Unsweetened vanilla malk
Supplements I take: Joint support, hormone balancer, omega, oregano oil for immune support
*Note – I’m not a health expert, nor am I recommending you take these supplements. This supplement list was given to me from a licensed health practitioner, based on my unique needs.
*None of these are affiliate links. Just trying to be helpful!
10am:
At desk for team meetings, Coffee & Questions (M & T), call prep, email check, answer all morning Voxers, OR I’m driving to Bungalow Coffee to do everything listed above – at the HQ (*Come April when our office remodel is done, this list will change. I’ll update the blog at that time!)
11am:
Calls begin! On no-call days (Tuesdays & Fridays) I work on curriculum / filming / content and internal TSB projects. & Sometiiiimes, I put all work away and go see my baby niece. Priorities ๐
1pm:
Make lunch! Right now I eat the same salad every day (can you tell I love consistency? lol)
Salad recipe: Chopped romaine base topped with radishes, green apple, cucumber, carrots, green onions, unsalted pistachios. Dressing is 1 lemon, tbsp olive oil, splash of ACV, sprinkle of Himalayan sea salt & black pepper.
3-4:30pm:
Done with calls, second inbox check, second Voxer check, return to morning projects, check in on team.
4:30pm:
Ryan and I walk dogs and chat about coffee shop needs
5pm:
Make dinner solo! For me, this is a time to decompress from the day. I don’t like having help ๐
I’m a, “Get out of my kitchen!’ type. Presenting a completed meal to my loved one brings me joy.
6-8pm:
Some days Iโm back on my laptop to meet a deadline / or because I have an ‘inspired moment’ that I need to act on. Some days I bustle around and clean the house (tbh I like to, itโs post-dinner movement and makes me feel productive while I listen to the Juicy Scoop podcast, guilty pleasure), or Ryan & I watch an episode of whatever Netflix show we’re currently on.
8pm:
Make tea & read my latest thriller novel.
Tea recipe: Lemon zinger steeped, half squeeze of lemon, 2 tsps of calm magnesium
What does your day look like? Similar? Very different?
