The Online Fitness Industry will be worth $59 MILLION by 2027 ($5 Million in 2019)
Crazy, huh?
In case you were having one of those “the market is too saturated” kind of days.
Getting started in the fitness industry can be D-A-U-N-T-I-N-G, especially if you’re a new online coach struggling with comparison-itis .
You’re stepping into a world filled with gymshark- sponsored- models with 1 million followers charging $10 for their booty building bible…and it’s enough to throw ANYBODY off their game and make it seem impossible to build a business in the fitness industry.
You find yourself trying to figure out how you can do what she’s doing- but better.
– Overworked, underpaid, highly stressed online coach has entered the chat-
I speak to trainers every day who struggle with establishing themselves in the fitness industry and cutting through the noise so that they can sell their genius (and at a high-ticket 4-figure price)
Let’s talk about the 3 steps you can take to help you differentiate yourself, grow your business, and have a greater impact.
1.Stop trying to be a clone of everyone else
One of the biggest mistakes I see trainers making is trying to be the same as everybody else.
Truth time: The reason the fitness industry seems to be too saturated is because it’s made up of a lot of the same people, with the same message, selling the same programs.
And I also include lil old me in that title (hey, girl, hey!) because I was one of those “fitness influencers” with 20K followers selling $10 e-books.
I saw so many other successful people in fitness (successful, in my mind, meant a lot of followers and perfectly curated photos), and I tried to replicate what they were doing.
Wrong. Move.
I spent years struggling to grow my business because I was just like everybody else.
The reality is that people are tired of seeing the same generic programs and they are ready to feel seen and understood by a compassionate and relatable coach (you) who really knows how to help them overcome their obstacles and achieve their desired results.
…and the only way to reach them is by showing up as your unique self.
Here’s what you can do to start standing out:
I want you to write down 3-4 major brand pillars that are an integral part of your coaching (in fitness it’s usually Nutrition, Exercise, Mindset, Stress Management) and within each of these, write a list of brand identifiers that make you unique.
For example: If Nutrition is a foundational part of your brand- what are your beliefs when it comes to nutrition? What do you want to passionately teach others when it comes to nutrition? What myths do you despise, and why?
The industry is full of people trying to throw quick fixes, products, and pills…why are you different?
2. Create a transformative offer
In a world full of “1:1 coaching” offers, be the person that has a unique framework that helps a specific person achieve their desired results.
If you want to stand out from the crowd- focus on creating a unique framework that helps people to overcome their unique obstacles to achieve their desired results
Now you’re stepping out of the role of -generic online coach- and into the role of -industry expert-
A valuable, high ticket signature offer that is uniquely designed for your dream client allows you to continue to grow and evolve as an expert, while maximizing your business growth and your client’s results.
3. Create a Content Strategy for Conversion
If you want to build a profitable online fitness business, you need to be strategic with your content strategy.
Your social media content is the key to growing your online fitness business, so let’s talk about the 3 types of content you should be focusing on:
1.Attraction Content– Content that speaks to the soul of your dream client and attracts them into your awareness pool.
2. Nurture Content– Content that allows your audience to get to know you and helps to build trust with your network.
3. Conversion Content- That final piece of the puzzle that takes your warm audience and your dream client from stranger to client.
