From climbing the corporate ladder to full-time serial entrepreneur and 7-figure business builder, I’m here to share the strategies that make entrepreneurship and small business growth feel doable (and dare I say, fun). Grab a seat, get comfy, and let's make this the year your small business goes big!
There’s a thought that creeps in around week two or so of a slow month.
It’s not some loud epiphany and you usually only share the details with a select few (your partner, team, or coach).
But it’s there, quietly looping in the background while you’re refreshing your Stripe dashboard, or staring at your launch numbers that just *aren’t* performing the way they used to.
It’s the quiet guest star all month in the episodic that is your business.
It leaves you with swirling thoughts of…
“My revenue keeps dipping and I have no idea why.”
And underneath that? An even scarier one:
“What if everyone who was going to buy from me… already has?”
Before we address these thoughts let me assure you that, while they are valid fears and feelings (that are quite common), they’re not the catastrophe that they feel like.
They are a “smoke” signal. You need to note it, and then take action. So I’m going to lay out exactly what to do next.
What the Revenue Dip Actually Means
Revenue inconsistency is a smoke signal. No, it’s not proof that your business is broken or a sign you’re doing something wrong.
It’s a signal. And signals exist to be read, not panicked over.
What that smoke signal is most likely telling you…
Nine times out of ten, when revenue stalls after a period of real success, it comes down to one thing: an audience problem.
Now, I have some good news and bad news… The good news? You know your offer works. You’ve proven it. You have buyers, testimonials, and results that back it up.
What you’re seeing now is that you don’t have a reliable system making sure those “hot n’ ready” leads are continuously finding their way to you.
Anyone else hungry for pizza now! 😅
I’ll break down that system in a second, but for now…time for more blog snacks (well, metaphors).
My Infamous Popcorn Analogy (And Why It Changes Everything)
“A dipping revenue isn’t always a sign something is broken. Sometimes it means something worked – and now you’ve run out of lead ‘kernels.'”
Let that land for a second.
You sold well to your warm audience, they converted into your offer, and that alone is a win! It’s what you WANT to happen!
But, now? The problem is that those leads have popped, and now you’re standing over an empty bag wondering why nothing is popping anymore.
I know you’re thinking “so, now what Shannon?”
———————
Let’s talk audience groups…
Every audience, no matter the size, the niche, or the platform has three groups of people inside it:
1. People who have bought (or will buy soon)
These are your popped kernels. They were ready, the timing was right, the offer landed, and they converted. Donezo.
2. People who will never buy
No amount of content, nurturing, or DMs is going to change this. These kernels aren’t going to pop. They’re just in the bag, taking up space. Just leave them be!
3. The unsold middle
This is the group everyone obsesses over. They’re engaged, like your posts, open your emails (thank you!!), anddd it *seems* like they’re interested… but they haven’t bought yet.
^These are your unpopped kernels. And for a while, you could reheat them. Wait until your next launch. Maybe a new angle, a new offer, and some of them would finally pop.💥
Not to add a wrench into the mix…but, that bag has a bottom.
The kernels that were going to pop in your current audience (bag)… have popped. The ones left in the bag have been reheated so many times that they’re just not going to go. No matter how good your next launch or angle is, they just won’t.
When this happens? Leads run dry and revenue dips? You need a fresh bag of kernels.
What the “Lack of Kernels” Is Telling You Right Now
If you’re experiencing the dip, here’s what’s likely happening beneath the surface:
1. You’ve popped all your warm kernels.
Everyone in your audience who was ready to buy has already bought, or decided they’re not going to. The warm leads are gone. And because there’s no system continuously bringing in new ones, you’re going back to the same bag over and over hoping something changed.
2. Every sale requires you to manually apply the heat.
You’re in the DMs. You’re doing the follow-ups. You’re running the live launches and showing up every single day because the moment you step back, sales stop. Nothing is warming new leads automatically. You are the system – and that’s not sustainable.
3. New kernels land in your world but never get hot enough to pop.
People find you, follow you, maybe even download your freebie. And then… nothing. They sit in your audience going lukewarm because there’s no clear path moving them from curious to qualified to converted. They arrived cold and stayed cold because no system was turning up the heat.
The System That Keeps the Bag Full
The fix is implementing a buyer system. One that continuously brings fresh kernels in, filters out the ones that will never pop, and converts the right ones fast, without you having to stand over the microwave manually watching every single one…pop!
Here’s what that looks like:
Content that brings in fresh, qualified kernels.
Not content that just maintains your existing audience. Content specifically designed to pull new, right-fit people into your world and move them toward a next step.
A lead magnet that filters out the kernels that will never pop (buy from you).
Not a freebie that attracts everyone with a pulse. One that’s so specific and so aligned with your offer that the wrong people opt out and the right people raise their hand immediately.
A bite-sized offer that applies the right heat at the right time.
Something positioned so well it converts fast- in days, not months. Without you having to close every single sale yourself.
A rhythm that keeps running without you standing over it.
Sequences, automations, a promo cadence that means new buyers come in whether you’re actively launching or finally taking a weekend off.
When those four pieces are connected? The lead “bag” stays full, heat stays on, and revenue stops feeling like something you have to chase and starts feeling like something that’s already in motion.
I Discovered This Process Accidentally And Then Systematized It
Hi, I’m Shannon! Former VP of Marketing, 8-figure online business owner, and the person who accidentally cut her lead-to-sale timeline from three months to three days.
I didn’t set out to do it. I made some changes – to how I was growing my list, what I was offering, how the pieces connected – and suddenly people were buying almost immediately after finding me.
So, I reverse-engineered what changed, systematized it, and started teaching it to my clients.
Here’s what happened:
Alane enrolled 9 clients before her final call to action even went out – $27,300 from one cohort launch
Sara enrolled 5 clients through evergreen content alone – $22,097 with no launch, no sales cycle, no public announcement
Brittany sold out her program, raised her prices to $3,500, and stepped fully into her authority
Julia enrolled 8 clients straight from her first launch – $14,750 in revenue from a brand new offer
They got there because they finally had a buyer system that kept fresh kernels coming and converted them consistently.
If Your Revenue Keeps Dipping, This Is Your Sign
I built Audience of Buyers specifically for entrepreneurs who are already making money but stuck in the inconsistency loop – they have a proven offer, yet revenue keeps dipping.
Inside, I’ll walk you through the exact three-phase system that:
Grows a targeted audience of new, qualified leads continuously
Moves them into your world and warms them automatically
Converts them into buyers in days – not months. Without you closing every sale yourself
No you don’t need…
~ A massive audience
~ To become best friends with a burnout-level launch schedule
~ To manually close every. single. sale.
If you’re experiencing the dip and those lingering thoughts of “what if anyone who’s ever going to buy, has?” THIS is your next step:
Your lead bag has been empty long enough! Now, let’s get you a fresh one and the system to keep it full and converting…fast!
