Launch AND Evergreen? When, Why, and How to Layer Them Strategically

Let’s talk scaling. Not just “get more eyeballs” scaling, but the kind that actually grows your revenue and your freedom.

Because while most people think scaling means more – more offers, more team, more pressure – I’m here to say the opposite: scaling is refinement. And a huge part of that? Choosing the right sales strategy at the right time.

Which brings us to the classic debate: Launch vs. Evergreen.

I use both – intentionally, strategically, and at different stages of my offer’s lifecycle. Here’s how I think about it:

First, Let’s Bust a Myth

“How do I create an evergreen/passive income offer?”

That’s a question I hear a lot. But the offer isn’t the question. Evergreen and live launching are sales strategies, not offer types. The offer is still the offer – it’s the container. The strategy is how you deliver it.

So What’s the Difference?

Live Launching:

  • Hype-driven: High energy, live promotion with a set start and end date
  • Great for: Building momentum, audience awareness, and gathering live feedback
  • Works best when: You’re still validating your offer or want a cash infusion

Evergreen:

  • Automated funnel: Constant access with timed urgency (using tech like Deadline Funnel)
  • Great for: Scalability, steady sales, and giving buyers access when they’re ready
  • Works best when: You have a proven offer, validated conversion rates, and client results

My Framework: Launch First, Evergreen Later

Launching is the testing ground.

  • It’s where I refine my messaging
  • Collect social proof
  • Build trust + buzz

Once the offer is proven (aka: sells consistently, delivers great results, and converts well), then I move into evergreen.

Because without that proof, evergreen will feel like yelling into the void. No urgency. No conversions. No sales.

Why I Use Both

Most people think you have to choose – but the real magic happens when you layer both strategies.

Here’s my process:

  1. Launch to a warm audience and make money upfront
  2. Deliver a stellar client experience that creates testimonials and referrals
  3. Use that data + feedback to build a high-performing funnel
  4. Evergreen the offer and make it available 24/7 – with strategy

Live launches become high-energy cash infusions. Evergreen becomes steady, scalable income.

How I Use Each Strategy

Live Launching:

I launch quarterly to:

  • Inject revenue into the business intentionally
  • Reactivate my warmest leads
  • Create urgency and audience buzz
  • Fill up my higher ticket offers and time-sensitive containers

Launches are also when I showcase new assets, test messaging, and reinforce brand awareness – all while creating that electric, communal “everyone’s talking about it” energy.

Evergreen:

I use evergreen funnels to:

  • Enroll people into my always-open program, Make It Online
  • Strategically sell LTO (low ticket offers) products through automation
  • Serve those who are ready to buy now without waiting for a launch
  • Maintain a consistent stream of warm leads

My evergreen system is a mix of:

  • Warm nurture sequences
  • Deadline Funnel to create urgency
  • Retargeting to bring leads back in
  • Layered segmentation based on user behavior

This way, I’m always selling – but never stuck in hustle mode.

The Perks of Launching:

  • A chance to test messaging, pricing, and offer delivery in real time
  • Opportunity to create urgency and social proof
  • Momentum-builder and traffic driver

The Power of Evergreen:

  • Sells while you sleep (literally)
  • Gives leads a chance to buy when they’re ready
  • Creates consistency in revenue without adding more to your plate

Evergreen Isn’t a Magic Button

It’s strategic. It’s layered. And it only works if:

  • Your messaging converts
  • Your funnel is optimized
  • Your offer is already proven

Trying to go evergreen before you’ve validated your offer? Recipe for frustration.

What Should You Do?

If you haven’t made your first 10-15 sales: launch it live. If your conversions are solid and your clients are getting results: build your evergreen funnel.

And if you’re in the in-between? Launch again – and treat it like data collection.

Remember: you don’t need a mythical permission slip to go evergreen. But you do need the right inputs to make it work.

TL;DR – How to Scale Smarter, Not Louder

  1. Start with a live launch – make money, build buzz
  2. Refine your delivery + client journey
  3. Use that data to build a killer evergreen funnel
  4. Layer both in your annual marketing plan for consistent revenue + momentum

Scaling isn’t about shouting louder or adding more. It’s about mastering your model. Launch when it serves you. Evergreen when it’s ready. Sophistication made simple.
