Ahh, December. The final chapter of the year, when online entrepreneurs are quietly closing sales on premium packages behind the scenes and running on equal parts holiday excitement and peppermint mocha lattes (if you’re in Vegas – come have one at Bungalow Coffee!!)
At the end of the year – we’re all in that headspace where you’re simultaneously tying a bow on client projects, dreaming of the upcoming holiday break – while also dreaming big for next years plan/goals! If you’re feeling a bit pulled in different directions – know you’re not alone.
Here’s your official permission slip to not to go pedal-to-the-metal right now. Instead, let’s map out a content plan that plays to the season’s strengths and your energy levels.
I break the end-of-year (EOY) timeline into three strategic phases below. Then, to make your life 10x easier, I’ve gathered over 54 content ideas ready for you to run with!!
*First, a lil quick convo about the close out of the year and sales (and what that looks like):
- First few weeks (now through 12/19) = you can focus on any BTS packages & premium programs, and/or front-of-house low ticket holiday sales to help with something timely!
- Latter part of the year (12/20 – 12/31) = Most people are OOO and spending money elsewhere. Take this time to build authority by recapping, sharing takeaways, 2026 predictions, etc
- Top of January (1/1 – 1/10 + beyond) = The new year is here, everyone is back and in the swing of their resolutions / vision boards, craft aspirational content that meets that desire
Now, below you’ll find your roadmap (and content plan – ideas at the bottom) to wrap up 2025 and head into 2026 with momentum – sans burnout.
Phase 1 | Now – Dec 19 (Your Final Sales Window)
If you have an offer you want to sell with this last bit of time – your content should be guiding people toward that decision. For this phase – you want content that builds trust and quietly converts.
- Shift the Perspective: Instead of hyping your offer, tell the truth about what’s happening right now:
- Most seasoned entrepreneurs are quietly onboarding last clients of the year, fulfilling commitments, and wrapping launches they started in October. Your audience feels that pace – so meet them there.
- This is your moment to say, “Here’s how I’m closing the year strong… and here’s how you can too.”
- Bring People With You: Focus on showing your work. A quick client win, a snapshot of a framework you’re delivering this week, the myth you keep debunking for your private clients – all of that reinforces what you do and why it works.
- This is the kind of content that makes someone think, “Oh… I didn’t realize I needed this until right now.”
- Conversion-Adjacent Content (the subtle kind that sells): Sprinkle in stories that naturally guide people toward taking action:
- A “before and after” mindset shift a client experienced
- The belief that was blocking someone until they entered your offer
- A misconception your ICA keeps clinging to that you want to finally put to bed
- A signature series on a messaging touchpoint they’ve seen you reference but never fully explained. Break it down in a face to cam talking head video!
Phase 2 | Dec 20 – Dec 31 (Yearly Reflections & Authority)
Welcome to the exhale portion of the year. After Dec 20, consider yourself officially in reflection mode. This is the period where many of your peers go radio silent (finally taking that offline holiday break) and audiences are scrolling casually – looking for feel-good, shareable content between their own festivities. That’s why from now through New Year’s Eve, your content shifts to recaps, stories, and vision. It’s less “buy my thing” and more “here’s what this year taught me” or “big picture plans ahead.”
Think of this phase as a chance to re-engage your audience on a human level.
In other words, showing your audience the real journey you’ve been on (wins, losses, lessons, growth) can spark genuine connection.
And guess what? Engaged, warm-and-fuzzy followers are exactly who will be excited to hear about your offers come January. 😉
Here’s what to focus on in late December:
- Year-in-Review Content: Dive into those prompts that have been sitting on your “I should post this” list. Share a month-by-month Year in Review, a roundup of things that went well (and those that didn’t), what you learned, and how you (and your business) have evolved since last January. These kinds of posts not only give you a treasure trove of content, but they also position you as a reflective, growth-minded leader.
- Light & Viral Posts: Mix the serious reflections with a little fun. This is prime time for lighthearted, potentially viral content. Post a goofy behind-the-scenes holiday photo with your team in ugly sweaters, run a “Favorite tool of 2025” poll in your Stories, or share a meme about the entrepreneurial struggle that only your followers would appreciate. The goal is to remind everyone that there’s a human behind your brand who gets it. These easy, entertaining posts can reignite engagement during a slow week. (Bonus: they’re easy on you to create – and likely to get some extra shares while people lounge around in post-dinner food comas.)
- Goals, Vision & Hopes: As you approach New Year’s, lean into forward-looking content. Open up about your 2026 vision – your goals, what you’re manifesting, what you want more of (and less of) in the coming year. This isn’t about proclaiming “2026 will be my 7-figure year!” just for show. It’s about authentically sharing the direction you’re headed and inviting your audience to dream for themselves too. It sets an optimistic tone and positions you as someone who isn’t just reflecting on the past but also leading into the future.
Most importantly, give yourself permission to coast a bit here. You do not need to churn out Oscar-worthy content every day during the holidays. If you have some pre-2025 gems or half-written reflections in your notes app, use them! Your audience will appreciate the substance over sheer frequency. And if you need to take a couple days off content entirely (hello Christmas Eve/Day 🎄), do it.
Phase 3 | Jan 1 – Jan 10 (Ramp Up for 2026)
How you handle this first week or two sets the tone for your work energy and your audience’s expectations. The keyword for early January is “smooth ramp-up.” We’re not slamming our foot on the gas January 1st, burning rubber out of the gate. We’re easing into the new year with purpose.
From Jan 1 to Jan 10, focus on gradually increasing your visibility and laying groundwork for the bigger marketing pushes to come later in Q1. Here’s how:
- Ease Back Into Promotion: If you have a January launch or winter promotion planned, use this time to warm up your audience, not hit them with a hard sell on New Year’s Day. For instance, Jan 2 might be a great day to share your 2026 goals (including the impact you aim to have – which, subtly, your upcoming offer might support). Around Jan 5 or 6, you could drop a valuable tip or mini-trainings related to the problem your next offer solves, to get people thinking. By Jan 10, you can hint, “Psst, something exciting is coming next week…” if a launch is imminent. It’s about pacing.
- Continue the Conversation: All those reflection posts from late December? Don’t just drop them and ghost. In early January, follow up on the threads you started. If you posed a question to your audience (e.g. “What are you most proud of this year?” or “What do you want more of in 2026?”), take time to engage with the replies and even incorporate some of their insights into a new post. This shows you listen and value your community’s voice. It also bridges the content between last year and this year, making your feed feel like one continuous journey (which it is).
- Set the Tone for 2026 Content: The content you put out in early January can act as a manifesto for your brand’s direction. Share what you’re excited about in the industry, your niche, or with your clients this year. Maybe toss out a few 2026 predictions relevant to your field – it’s a classic move to establish thought leadership and spark engagement (everyone loves to agree or disagree with predictions!). Essentially, you’re saying “New year, new opportunities” without the cliché; you’re showing you’re ready for 2026 and inviting your audience to come along.
By Jan 10, you should feel fully “warmed up” and so should your followers. From here on, you can transition into your regular content calendar or launch campaigns with everyone primed and attentive.
