“You don’t have a business” he said to me 😡

The “he” in question being my coach 😬 when we started working together over a year ago.

I balked… Excuse me? I’m coaching women, I’m strategizing, I’m helping change business trajectories!

He said, “That’s great! But… Do you have any other offers? Or are you just selling your brain / your time? YOU own those things, you can’t fully give them to someone else. That’s not sustainable, and it’s not what you want for your forever business.”

I nodded.. slowly.. mulling over his words, debating a sassy retort.

But ultimately, he was VERY right about one thing – It wasn’t sustainable.

Last summer, I would talk & talk & talk ALL DAY on coaching calls. I would sit & sit & sit in the same spot.

You know the #1 thing I was ready to change when I left corporate? Endless meetings & being stuck in the same place all day ^ whoops.

By the time the evening rolled around I was silent (trying to rest my sore throat), chugging tea, warm compress tucked into a scarf resting on my throat. Was I a Business Coach, or Opera Singer preparing for her big night? #dramaticbuttrue

Morale of the story = I created courses, digital products, profitable group programs, referral & affiliate relationships, paid advertising & speaking opportunities.

I diversified the *ish out of my income, and went from solely 1:1 ➡️ 1:many.

I’m writing this to you while sitting in a local cafe. I’m about to pack up and have breakfast with my fiance prior to *only* 2 hours of calls. Then meet my girlfriends downtown for dinner & game night.
